“It is just common sense to me that if you believe in compassion and justice you cannot treat the animals the very opposite simply because they are weaker or because they have less intelligence. It’s not our business to judge these things. They have the type of intelligence they need to exist.” - Peter Singer

How anyone turns a blind eye to this, I cannot fathom.
Are you interested in coming along to a vegan picnic potluck on December 29? If so, email me at wheresthebeef_blog[at]yahoo.com.au and I can send you details. :-)
Amy - I'm so sorry I didn't see your message! You would have been welcome. Drop me an email at the address above and I'll make sure you're notified of the next get-together.
Niki, I have found that when I leave comments on your blog I do not get notified of follow-up comments on the same post. This is different to other blogspot blogs I visit. Is there anything you can do to alter the settings and allow me to subscribe to your comments? If you're unsure how to look into it, email me privately and we can probably muddle through together. :-)
Aw, that photo and article brought tears to my eyes!
I've been reading your blog for awhile now and I vaguely remember you writing about horse racing. I came across an article in the SMH today about what happens to the majority of the horses in the industry - I can't seem to post the link to it here though. Anyway, I think it's great that there is an article in the mainstream news that exposes some of what really happens in horse racing. If you want a link to it, email me (littleaspectsATgmailDOTcom) and I'll send it to you.
Anyway, I like your blog and your writing - it's always thoughtful and compassionate. :-)
Cindy, sorry for my late reply, looks like I missed out. Sucks!! Thanks for the invite - next time :)
Amy, hi! Just added you to my blog reader. Sounds like we both missed out on the picnic. Boo.
Little Aspects - thanks for your comment and I'm glad you think my blog is thoughtful and compassionate considering I think I'm a rambling idiot half the time. Sweet of you! I have emailed you about that link :)

Oh wait, I've found your 'subscribe by email' button - my mistake! Hopefully I won't miss out on important follow-up comments again. :-)
