“It is just common sense to me that if you believe in compassion and justice you cannot treat the animals the very opposite simply because they are weaker or because they have less intelligence. It’s not our business to judge these things. They have the type of intelligence they need to exist.” - Peter Singer
Cool huh? It's an Animal Liberation Victoria (ALV) meetup night or something. 8 course vegan degustation and 80 other ALV volunteers I have never met - for a measly $32 a head! WOoooo!
(sadly that doesn't include matching wines. sigh)
I've not been there before but Zen Zero Blu have a 8 course vegetarian meal on their normal menu for $32 which sounds great - I'm sure they could make it vegan seeing as tonight's is vegan. Will have to let you know how it is!
Animals Australia had a similar event there last year, but I think it was $25 each! I think $32 is good value, the food ranged from good to excellent (the dessert was an amazing coconut lemongrass sorbet) and degustation is always fun.
A friend of mine inquired, and at that time ZZB said they could do the vegan degustation as long as the party was a minimum of 20 people and enough notice was given (I don't remember the amount of notice suggested sorry).
Joanne, actually I'm so retarded that it WAS and Animals Australia event, not ALV! I only realised when I turned up. Such a moron. Food was great - will have to blog it.
I want to know more about this! OMG.
